self-portrait in landscape

This performed body of work was initiated to combine theoritic, aesthetic and theraputic ideas; the experience of the process is as much a part of the work as the final images. It stemmed from an interest in the historic tradition of the reperesentation of the female nude within the landscape and from a desire to reclaim the aesthetics and appeal of this genre for myself. Each image encapsulates a thirty-second performance during which time I am forced through the need to keep motionless, to become acutely aware of my physical presence.
